IBM. The buyer's reading room.

The IBM estate is governed by the ILMT regime, the sub-capacity entitlement, the PVU computation, the Passport Advantage anchor, the mainframe MLPS programme, the Red Hat subscription model, and IBM audit method. This hub aggregates every piece of analysis Admodum has published on IBM. White papers, case studies, blog commentary, FAQ. All written from the buyer's side.

ILMT is not a tool. It is the entitlement.

Without an ILMT in a documented state, sub-capacity entitlement falls away. The audit reads full-capacity. The cost reconciliation that follows is non-trivial.

The ILMT entitlement curve
Analysis · ILMT
Sub-capacity entitlement is a function of ILMT state. The curve runs from a documented healthy state down through partial coverage to non-compliance and full-capacity exposure.
Read →
PVU and the cluster boundary
Primer · PVU
The PVU computation reads on the cluster, not the deployment. The cluster boundary is the position. The documented boundary protects the entitlement.

Tailored Fit Pricing: a buyer's reading
Analysis · Mainframe
Tailored Fit Pricing reads on workload profile, not MSU peak. The buyer reading runs the documented workload mix against the contracted baseline.

The IBM audit clock
Audit defence · IBM
The audit notification arrives. The ILMT state is the first move, not the deployment evidence. The clock can be paused.

Questions we hear
IBM FAQ.
Why is the ILMT state so important?
Because the sub-capacity entitlement depends on it. Without a documented healthy ILMT state, the audit reads at full-capacity and the cost reconciliation that follows is non-trivial. The white paper at ILMT health and sub-capacity defence covers the entitlement curve.
What is the Passport Advantage renegotiation cycle?
Twelve to eighteen months before the Subscription and Support renewal anchor. The account level reconciliation, the Bundle Solutions design, and the multi-year discount tier are all reset at the renegotiation. The Admodum Renewal Programme is the operating framework.
Is Admodum a partner or reseller of IBM?
No. Admodum is not a partner, reseller, or affiliate of IBM. The firm carries no IBM margin, no IBM referral commission, no Passport Advantage Reseller agreement, and no IBM audit subcontract. The buyer is the only client. See the firm page and the IBM practice page for the documented position.
How does Admodum charge on IBM work?
Three engagement models. Fixed fee on a scoped engagement, contingency tied to verified savings, and the annual retainer for an estate-wide programme. See Fixed Fee, Contingency, and Annual Retainer.
What is the retention regime on IBM papers?
Five years from engagement close. Every position paper, counter-position, evidence trail and closing memorandum is retained inside the firm. The buyer can request source workings at any point through the original advisor.
